PoE 2 Simulacrum Entry: Complete Fragment, Atlas Target and Run Checks

Separate Simulacrum Splinters from the complete fragment, then check the Atlas target before committing. This guide explains the Wiki's current entry description, historical patch context and practical preparation without recycling the obsolete Realmgate route.

To use a complete Simulacrum, the current community Wiki describes applying it to an Endgame World Area on the Atlas affected by at least 100% Deliriousness. Splinters are the component, not the complete entry item. This guide is for players holding either form who want to identify the right target before committing. Do not follow an old Realmgate walkthrough as though it described the current Atlas route.

The entry description below comes from the local research collected for October 24, 2026. Historical official patch notes explain specific changes, but neither those notes nor the Wiki amount to a fresh in-game test of every entry condition.

First identify what is in your inventory

The Simulacrum map fragment page classifies the complete item as a Map Fragment. It says 300 Simulacrum Splinters combine into one Simulacrum. The separate Splinter page gives the same count. These are two pages on the same community site, not independent official confirmations.

What you have What it represents What to check next
Simulacrum Splinters Components for the complete item Current stack and combination tooltip; Wiki lists 300
Complete Simulacrum Map Fragment used on an eligible Atlas area Target area with at least 100% Deliriousness
Simulacrum encounter The combat content accessed through the entry process Actual entry, difficulty and revive information

If you are comparing inventory names, the complete Simulacrum item reference distinguishes the finished item from its components. Verify the actual client tooltip before relying on a stack count from a guide.

Read the Atlas target, not just the fog artwork

The fragment’s documented instruction is to right click it, then left click an Endgame World Area affected by at least 100% Deliriousness. The Wiki describes this as converting an eligible Atlas fog map into Simulacrum of Delusion. Visible fog by itself is not the same thing as a verified qualifying percentage.

For example, suppose you have the complete fragment and can see a fog affected area. If the area’s displayed state does not meet the threshold, possession of the fragment does not make that target eligible. Check the area’s information rather than repeatedly trying the item on a target selected only because it looks appropriate.

The official 0.5.3 notes provide historical context: spreading Atlas fog no longer spawned Simulacrum maps immediately; spawning instead occurred when the fog bank reached 100% Deliriousness. That change explains why a vague instruction such as spread some fog is insufficient.

Separate entrance eligibility from combat readiness

An eligible Atlas target answers where the item can be applied. It does not tell you whether your character can handle the resulting encounter. Before entry, consider sustained clearing, damage against individual tough enemies and whether your defenses remain dependable during extended combat.

The same 0.5.3 notes state that Simulacrums started at 100% Delirious and scaled to 200%. Treat those numbers as a documented change in that patch, not a claim that every later balance detail has been retested. Their planning value is the warning that initial comfort does not establish readiness for increasing pressure.

Use the Atlas session planning guide to decide whether this is a preparation session or an entry attempt. No supported minimum damage number or guaranteed completion threshold follows from the collected evidence.

Check passive dependent choices and Waystone revives

Do not assume every character receives the same choices between waves. In 0.5.3, the notable named You can’t just wake up from this one was documented as enabling Shards between waves with a single selection. The listed options added area modifiers, a boss or monster packs. The passive requirement is part of that historical description, not an optional detail.

Revives need their own check. The official 0.5.5 notes fixed Simulacrum of Delusion areas not respecting the available revives from the Waystone used to access them. That supports checking the Waystone and entry display; it does not establish a universal death allowance.

Review the Waystone preparation checklist before committing. Do not translate an old reference to portals into a current promise about deaths, reconnecting or party revives.

Resolve these questions before opening

Do I put loose Splinters into the Realmgate?

Not according to the current Wiki route used here. It distinguishes components from the complete fragment and describes applying the complete item to a qualifying Atlas area. Older Realmgate instructions should not replace that description.

Is the 300 Splinter requirement guaranteed forever?

No. It is the count recorded on the researched community Wiki pages. Recheck the current item tooltip before planning around it, especially if your client differs from the researched description.

How many waves and deaths should I expect?

This entry guide does not promise a current fixed wave count or death allowance. The evidence supports version specific changes and a Waystone revive fix, not a universal rule for every entry today.

Make the final go or wait decision

Proceed only after identifying the complete item, confirming a qualifying Atlas target and reading the actual entry and revive information. If any of those checks fails, preserve the item while resolving the mismatch. Knowing which requirement is missing is more useful than spending an attempt to discover that an old route no longer applies.
